More Black Friday. Star and SkyTeam Europe to the US. £1300.

There are definitely a lot of great deals around at the moment.  Not to be outdone by the British Airways and oneworld deals from London, the Star Alliance and SkyTeam carriers have some almost as good deals from a number of European cities over to the US.

There are fares from Switzerland and France from roughly £1,300 return to the US, including the West Coast.

Despite having looked in detail in the fare rules, the Star Alliance fares don’t seem to be any restrictions on date – they simply need to you to find ‘P’ class availability.  Tickets must be issued by the 31st December, but I suspect they will be long gone before then.

The SkyTeam fares do have some restrictions with dates, namely:

  • 03NOV18 THROUGH 18DEC18
  • 27DEC18 THROUGH 04APR19
  • 2NOV19 THROUGH 17DEC19
  • 30DEC19 THROUGH 19JAN20

And return travel must be:

  • 08NOV18 THROUGH 25DEC18
  • 09JAN19 THROUGH 12APR19
  • 07NOV19 THROUGH 23DEC19
  • 07JAN20 THROUGH 19JAN20

However all of these fares require a minimum six night stay.

For example, here’s some flight from Geneva to San Francisco with the rather excellent Air Canada, and then returning to Zurich with Swiss.

For around £80 more, you can fly from Paris instead.  Again, Star Alliance seem to have some excellent deals to the US West Coast.  Below is an example of flights from Paris to San Francisco with United, and then back from Los Angeles in January time.

Austrians also get some great deals too.  Vienna to New York, again with Star Alliance carriers including Austrian and Brussels Airlines come out at a similar price.

Finally the Italians also seem to get a look in with fares from £1,500 from Milan to destinations such as Seattle and Los Angeles.

There’s a lot of choice here, so if you know where and when you want to go in North America next year, I’d lock in a trip ASAP.
